Bespoke Grey Diamond and Rose Gold Handmade Engagement Ring #Barcoops Wedding

Here's a little look at the wedding day of one beaut couple I created a bespoke engagement ring for. One of the most amazing things about designing and hand making jewellery is playing a part in some very special moments in peoples lives, and what is more special than two peoples commitment of lifelong love for each other. And who doesn't love a good old Hackney wedding....

Every experience is different working with clients ideas on bespoke commissions. This process began with showing Fi a selection of stones based on her ideas. The brief was to find an unusual stone; Fi didn't want a traditional clear white diamond, and eventually settled on an amazing cushion cut natural salt and pepper grey diamond. I absolutely love working with this type of stone as each one is completely unique and the colourings add to its natural beauty.

The next stage was to create sketches for Fi based around ideas we had discussed in the meeting.... The stone setting for the diamond itself was hand carved in wax, and the band was hammered by hand in rose gold but I created a mock-up CAD image of some of the jewellery sketches to give Fi a clear idea of how her ring design would look in 3D.

The final design features a half bezel setting in platinum with shoulder stones set into the shank itself... The matte finish gives the ring a more rustic feel which really complements the tone of the diamonds...
