FERA jewellery is a collection of handmade and bespoke jewellery created by British designer maker Jo Gordon. For the bold and the curious; the wanderers and the wonderers; each piece is imbued with symbolism, crafted using age old techniques, and holds a unique story.
Jo travels the globe, restless with fascination for natures' mystic beauty, the intrigue of an unknown culture, a new landscape; each full of shapes, colours, and experiences that inspire and influence her work
Jewellery has held a most precious power throughout the ages and across cultures; to adorn...protect...remember...express. In recycled silver, precious stones and carved bone Jo fuses these powerful energetic properties into treasured talismans, reminiscent of ancient relics to last a lifetime
With a background in Fashion, she studied at the renowned Birmingham School of Jewellery, and after gaining further experience working for prestigious names within the jewellery industry, launched FERA in 2014. She leads something of a nomadic lifestyle through her passion for exploration and discovery and this global wandering has greatly influenced her work; whether it be when scouring a Moroccan bazaar, sunset surfing in front of a Hindu temple or bartering over precious stones in Sri Lanka. She is greatly interested in esoteric concepts and beliefs about the metaphysical world; ancient spiritualism and the search for a deeper connection
Sustainability is of key importance at FERA, and a percentage of each sale is donated to environmental charities. Jo works in recycled silver and is registered as a FairTrade Goldsmith ensuring fair working conditions, pay and rights for gold miners
